As a general rule, passports must be valid for six months beyond the date the traveler will enter Paraguay.

* Only for ordinary passport holders.
** Visa Exemption for Paraguayan Nationals (IC Passports)
Effective June 1, 2025, Paraguayan citizens holding an ordinary IC passport (electronic passport with an embedded chip) will be exempt from obtaining a visa to enter Japan for stays of up to 90 days, provided the purpose of visit is non-remunerative, such as tourism, business, or family visits.
Important: This visa exemption only applies to IC passports with an embedded chip issued by the National Police of Paraguay on or after July 15, 2023, or by Paraguayan embassies and consulates abroad.
If you possess a passport without a chip, you must renew it with the National Police of Paraguay in order to qualify for visa-free entry into Japan.

II. Nationals of Russia and Taiwan can apply for a VISA ON ARRIVAL for a short stay (tourism, technical, and business) of up to 90 days, and for Nationals of Qatar, up to 30 days.
⇒ The Visa on Arrival is available only at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (Asunción-Luque).
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Passport.. (six months beyond)
- Payment in cash of the corresponding fee: Russia: 160 USD, Taiwan, and Qatar: 100 USD

REQUIREMENTS
- Be a resident or legal visitor in Japan, Vietnam, the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong,Macao, Brunei Darussalam, Laos or Indonesia.
- Personal appearance of the applicant to pick up the visa.
